Well, I purchased an SS muffler off another member here a few months ago and it's been sitting in my garage since. I guess I could sell it to another member here. I only paid $65 shipped for it so I could make a deal if someone really wanted it.

I was trying to buy the stock SS catback from Dave (hellshotrod), but shipping was going to be insane! The cheapest quote we got was somewhere around $300 due to the awkward size and weight. That's the only reason I bought the Borla kit, otherwise I would have paid Dave.

Yes. There is interior drone from 75-80mph, but not enough for me to want to switch back to the stock cat back. I've had loud cars in the past and trust me, I never want to have another loud car to where I can barely hear myself talk. Maybe it's because I'm a little older now, but if this was to loud I would definately switch back to the stock cat back. My car drones now and is louder because of the header and down pipe. I've heard videos of our cars with the stock manifold, down pipe and the borla cat back and sound really good as well. They aren't that much louder than stock. I'm not sure what your current exhaust setup is, but I like the setup I have now. If you're looking for performance and stock sound I would recommend the header and down pipe combination of your choice and leave the stock cat back in place with an electric dump installed somewhere in the cat back line. That way you can have the performance you want at the flip of a switch and also have the almost stock sounding exhaust. I was going that route, but then got carried away on ordering exhaust parts.

 

I made like six videos with my phone all of the interior and the rpm range, and they aren't worth sharing, they are all just stock interior sound, and on the free way you can hear the wind more than anything, that's with the windows closed.

So I will benefit more from your videos.

Did you have any drone with everything stock and a borla exhaust.

Or did the drone come after the down pipe?

 

Sorry Gio, I should have been more clear in my post. I did the entire exhaust swap over the weekend so I can't say if the drone is more noticeable or less with just the cat back and stock manifold/dp. I think there is a video in this thread of the borla cat back only and it sounds really good to me. There is another video on YouTube that I can't find right now since I'm at work, but it's a white hhr with the cat back only and it also sounds good. I can't say if the drone is noticeable in their cars, but it is in mine. I think the other exhaust mods I have is what is making my car drone at different rpm ranges. But, like I said this hasn't made me want to switch back to stock. I actually really like the sound.

 

Sounds like the header and DP added to the throaty sound of the exhaust. In Nrvous1 's video. But I like it!!
