Yeah it boggles me why they went with that setup stock. Didn't someone, somewhere, drive it on a hot day and wonder; gee why does this thing fall on it's face when it gets hot? Lol. I absolutely love my hhr but this and a few other things, I'm looking at you headlight bulb changes, makes me question GM.

well i did the reflectix tonight.....not exactly a perfect fit but pretty close.....took me like an hour to do. I hope this stuff isnt flamable, lol. we'll see how this stuff works....going to put it back on tomorrow morning

I still have clearance and I used two layers. Admittedly not much clearance lol, but yes I read the label it's heat and flame rated. Mine does have a minute amount of play because it's hard to get it flush around bends but I sectioned mine off and used overlapping layers plus the double sided tape and the metal tape along the edges. let us know your impressions after some hot driving. A good test touch your hand lightly to the top of your intake and then the fuse box or other non metallic surface after driving a while. Or maybe you have an intake temp gauge ? I'm curious the registered difference.

There was another member here that has done a similar mod..I say similar because Im not sure the material he used but it was AC insulator tape..anyways he did a temp test under real world conditions and found the insides were only a coupla degs warmer then ambient temps..(outside air temp)..dont remember if he did hose but he did the whole airbox..
