I think they might notice that its a different HHR than they expect to see when a black one rolls in with me behind the wheel Kev. Something tells me that they'll pick on the different model year, interior color, wheels, transmission, etc.

By pulling those fuses you just clear those two modules...... radio and other stuff stays unaffected.
X 2, precisely what I did, pulled (# 41 & # 43) when I added the gmpp air box..

If you cut the power to the ECM, it reverts to its default settings, and then goes into learning mode, as it "learns" how you drive. So, if you drive like a nut right afterwards, it will be prepared for that in the future - you know, just in case...

I always did this by disconnecting the neg battery cable, but I guess this is easier than digging around in your rear end for the battery connection. (double entendre intended)

Exactly? I'm not sure,

In short, it's the same as disconnecting the battery after a mod, but it doesn't effect the whole car...

#41 will reset the learndown feature of the engine and you will probably notice better throttle response, especially after a mod such as a different intake. It was night and day when I put on the GMPP..... I dove it before pulling the fuse and there was a huge bog just off idle...... Went away after pulling the fuse for 15-20 minutes and then putting it back. (Not a pull the fuse and leave it out mod..... Just a reset)

#43 would do the same IF! the trans has the same learning feature.... I think it tries to remember your driving style and set shift points accordingly, BUT I've never read that the tranny has "learndown" features. I have read reciently that this is also something to do with a change to the GMPP, maybe it's from the instructions???, I don't know. (never got instructions with mine) I didn't do this initially when I did the GMPP.

Learndown tries to learn your driving style and make adjustments to get the best mileage for you, or something to that effect..... That's not necessarily the best "performance". I've heard guys say that after pulling the fuse, "drive it like you stole it" and it learns that as your "driving style". I donno. I think the learning feature is going to learn part throttle "city driving", not wide open throttle. I just set it back to factory "new" settings and drove as I normally do..... aggressive!!!

When I had the Trifecta tune I told Vince to remove learndown as that was one of the options, not positive he did but it was in my requests. The last time I pulled both of those fuses I felt no difference, I believe that's because of the tune.

thanks Greybeard, That helps me understand whats going on.

I found CAI off of a SCION at a second hand store for 4 bucks.
It gives me quite a bit of extra tubing to fiddle with.
I am hoping to be able to plumb my filter into the fender well...as soon as my CGS gets here.
