K&N Cold air intake installed ????
No I didn`t think I had to if the dealer took out the codes, but I does make sense to reprogram the computer.I`m going back to the dealer tomorrow ,after they take the codes out I`ll try it,hey thanks for the info,I really need all I can get right now.
Well I went to the dealer and they checked it out .Finally they said they have to change a sensor MAP I think. They didn`t say a word about the K&N cold air.So next week I have to go back because the sensor was not in stock.I will keep you posted.
Not to be a bearer of bad news, but as they say, "been there, done that". After 2 dealers refused to warranty my MAP due to my CGS intake, I paid for one myself. Still get the T/C light-sometimes after doing a burnout, other times when driving normally or stopped at a light. Every once in a while, I get the picture of the engine (which means to service car soon). That goes out after 4 restarts. I am trying to bring my car back to a dealer ASAP to see if the MAP code is still registering. If it is, then I know it is bogus since my MAP is brand new. In my case, my car was in an accident where the right rear wheel was the point of impact. I want to get that wheel sensor checked.
Let me know how you make out. I dont mind the T/C light, but I dont like the hard shifting the car does.

I have had the T/c light 3 times. Once while at the dealership. The code says vin not correct to communicate with the computer (or something similar). It is a code that will not come up on a generic tester. Shop foreman is researching the code for me.
I got the same thing that the vin number was not correct to communicate with the computer and also a code that I should have the injectors cleaned.I was thinking ,when my car was brand new a dealer tech shorted out my computer and they had to change it ,I`m wondering if that could have something to do with my problem.I guess we`ll see with the new sensor. If I keep having this problem I think I`ll go back to the factory intake.I will email K&N again to tell them about this problem,it might be a good idea if everyone with this problem does the same thimg, right. They might have to work out a solution because this problem doesn`t help sales, right.
K&N emailed me back and they say that if the dealer insists it a cold air intake problem that they will look into the problem further but if not they say it`s not a cold air problem. My HHR is going back to the dealer tomorrow to change the MAP sensor,I hope this works. When I was at the dealer the last time they reprogrammed my computer because they said there were update that had to be entered.I didn`t feel any difference.I would like to have some feedback on this ,how many of you guys have the same problem.

Well I went to the dealer yesterday and they changed the oxygen sensor not the MAP sensor. They said that if that doesn`t work I will have to put the OEM intake back on and see if the traction control lights up after .I will contact K&N again and give them the codes that came up the last time, they assure me that it`s not an intake problem,if it is I will try to get my money back from them,if they sell a product that doesn`t work they should be able to deal with it right??Hey by the way THANKS TO ALL YOU GUYS FOR HELPING ME WITH THIS PROBLEM,I asked if any other people had the same problem AND NOT ONE ANSWER.I`m kinda feeling left out but I guess I`ll deal with it myself.
Well, I made a call to the AIRAID filer company about the check engine light comming after the filter install and about how many other people experienced similiar problems on this forum and he kind of blew me off. He basically acted like he never has gotten a call about this problem and that he did not have faith in forums. When I mentioned that others had had similiar problems on the forum he asked me was this forum like next to the earthlink forum link. i quess that was suppose to be some kind of joke ! He did tell me to get the code number and he would pass that info on but I dont believe that he has never heard of this problem before. Got to be one of the worst customer service calls I have ever had. Would not buy another product from them, ever !
