Looks like the airaid gets some ram effect through the same opening above the rad.

 

HHo, what if any changes did you notice after doing this, any MPG change? Cool.. Idea!

 

It feels like it revs up a little quicker when you get on it. I do like the fact that you don't get the intake rush noise that is common with open air filter systems
As for gas milage....maybe 1 more mpg....

I was mostly one of those lets see if I can do it projects.....

 

I'm diggin the whoosh sound of this set up. IMO

 

I get enough sound from my magnaflow..........

 

Ya , Without the turbo screamin with the whoosh it would probally be annoying.

 

Most of my annoying noise comes from the right seat......even the radio can't block that!

Close the box - with a snorkel like vettes use - that would be as wide as possible to fit the gap in the core support - that would incorporate a lid. Cold air coming in that spot could be snorkeled up to the air filter. Just sayin.

 

I built ram air on my Cobalt SS 2.4. It gained noticeable HP on the dyno (I ran it with the stock set-up, with the GMPP intake without the scoop, and with the GMPP and the scoop - the scoop was the biggest gainer).
