Why did they weld all those short pieces together instead of just using a bender? Looks very time consuming...

Yeah it does look kinda, well choppy. The reason, they don't have a bender. Its a neighborhood shop run by a great guy who is a very good honest mechanic. Not fancy, but you can count on him being straight. hard to find these days so I give him as much of my business as I can. If I continue to like the set up and don't drag it off of the car, we'll eventually redo it with a single pipe.

My only concern is that "choppy" affects the flow...

But hey, you are driving it and can probably judge its performance better.
