Following my Tuner's advice I cleaned the MAF sensor and reset the ECU. Just came back from a test drive and my baby is back to normal thank God!!! Seems I ingested a lil H2O on the way back from NJ last Friday and between the brand new K&N filter and water injestion, the MAF sensor was not a happy camper. I have to thank Nick at BYT for his advice. I believe he's just saved me a few hundred in unnecessary spending. It was nice to drive my Hearse after several days of it sitting in the garage!!

Racked up 204 miles on Paddy as we scampered about looking at property, found a couple of possible lots, and managed to melt in the 99 degree heat. I'm finding it hard to look at a field of grass and weeds and while envisioning a house and shop sitting there all done and landscaped, what are we doing?

The self adjusters aren't an urban legend speedwagen, the HHR is just "blessed" with adjusters that don't adjust themselves, let them go long enough and the rear brakes are just along for the ride...not contributing any braking force, and accelerating front brake wear + the chances of developing the patented HHR brake judder.
I have found followers! I finally found something that Greybeard, 843, Sleeper and I agree on!

American cars have had "self-adjusting" drum brakes for a very long time, the only problem is the "self-adjusting" mechanism is made to make brake techs money; it just has never worked as good as you think it should. Japanese cars, at least my Mazda, have a mechanism that is entirely "non-adjustable by humans", they just are adjusted correctly with no adjuster slots or anything. Well, there is probably something wrong with that system, too.

ALWAYS, routinely have the drums adjusted or at least checked. Personally, I do 1 click most every time I rotate the tires, but then I rotate the tires not the tire shop normally.

Went on a mission on mercy this morning, my lovely wife managed to get a nice dose of Poison Ivy yesterday as we tramped around looking at building lots. So this morning I was waiting in the parking lot of the Cannon Pharmacy with Paddy, so I could get come Calamine lotion etc. The lady who unlocked the door just chuckled when I said "Help!! Poison Ivy emergency!", I swear Michelle was going to itch herself to death last night.

She's feeling better now, but I have threatened to make her wear mittens until the urge to itch subsides, seems like they don't have Poison Ivy in France...or at least she never managed to get a case of it when she was little.

You could be mischievous and give her WOOL mittens.

When you get in contact with PI you should wash the area thoroughly with at least soap (Dawn dishsoap is better). Then thoroughly rinse it. 3X.
The first and second times break down and rinse the oils. The third time will get the area oil free.

The best way to get relief from PI irritation is:

Turn the sink water on as hot as you can stand it. Then turn it up a little hotter.
Hold the afflicted area under the HOT water as long as you can stand it. Then keep it there longer.
repeat a few times.

That will release the histamine (the chemical that makes it itch) Think benadryl.
That's also why Benydryl ointment (after washing routine and Hot water) helps.

That should provide enough relief to get a good night sleep.

It really works. I know from mountain biking, hiking, etc... it 100% works.

BTW - EVERYTHING she touched before washing the oils off WILL BE CONTAMINATED. Wash everthing a few times. Yes, even that.
