Exactly, It's better than the factory gold but not as good as what I had in mind. I'm leaning towards pulling the emblems and painting them to match.

KNEZRYD did a fine job of painting his Bowtie.

I think the gold around your blue decal makes it stand out more.

i got some scrap vinyl from a decal shop down the street and put them over the bowtie. if you heat it up it stretches nicely then you just trim around the bowtie and bingo, no amber showing. I'll take some pics tomorrow if you all want.

I'd like to see pictures. I'll pull the bowties off and paint if I have to, but if vinyl works I rather do vinyl. I don't know about the rest of you but my front bowtie has really taken a beating, 4-5 very noticable scratches in just over 11K miles. I'd like to be able to recover it easily if this continues to be a problem.

For those of you that painted the bowties, did you remove them to do it and if so how? I would love to get mine off and spray them properly. Also what primer did you start with, how many coats of paint and how many coats of clearcoat?

Can someone post a "how-to" on removing the bowties???? I'd like to paint mine too, but I don't know how to get them off.

It's held on with 3M tape. Heat it up and pull the bowtie off. If they give you a hard time you can use a piece of fishing line or dental floss to cut through the adhesive. The same method you would use to debadge the car.

That's what I use. I'm afraid to use a heat gun on a car becuse I know I'll hold it in place too long and bubble my paint.
