Changeling: HHR LT into an SS
You did one on yours without doing much in performance mods correct?
You did the gmpp aircleaner and ??? And got it Tuned.
So of course he would have had his Supercharger install, Tuned.
Change exhaust systems on todays cars and a Tune is benificial.
You felt a Tune was a good thing even without much in performance mods, feel it was worth it and you Gained performance by having it right?
Wow. A lot of strong opinions in this thread. And some vitriol, to boot.
I think that the LS/LT models are not performance vehicles, and owners who attempt to transform them into something that they are not are throwing away money.
The HHR SS is an entirely different vehicle. The points of comparison between an SS and an LS/LT are trivial.

Excellent point, LS and LT models are very nice competent vehicles, sprightly and fun to drive, but not performance oriented.
The SS is like the amps in Spinal Tap, it goes to "11", so comparisons are a moot point.
I am intrigued in the "Super Sleeper" mod put forth a few posts back, take an SS and give it normal HHR bumpers, grille, and badges. It would be a modern day "sleeper", all engine and go fast bits wrapped in a plain brown wrapper, just waiting for some unsuspecting Honda that needs its doors blown into the weeds.

"Tunes" go hand in hand with todays engines and computers on cars.

Now about you being critical about the amount of modifications to my car...
Nah.... I better not.
Where did you get the idea I was saying something negative about tunes? What I was responding to was the guy that said just slap a SC on it and call it a day.... No mention of tune. Just bolt on and drive. Obviously JoeR did more than that and it worked well.

JoeR's responce to him was short and sweet that his supercharger install has been installed about 4 years, without issue. It was not meant as a "How To".
I read your responce to JoeR's reply as you were calling him out, like he was hiding the fact that a performance mod like a supercharger install will benefit from/need a Tune.
Maybe that was not your intent, but thats the way I read it, at the time.
Critical? Being Critical about the amount of modifications to your car? I don't really care one way or the other what or how many you have or have not done GB.
It's YOUR HHR, do as YOU please with it, not what anyone else likes or dislikes.

I havent made a list or back searched your posts to know what exactly you have or have not done, I was Asking you, I mentioned the ones I knew off the top of my head that I know you have done, engine wise. And I know you did a Trifecta Tune.
So I was pointing out that you felt a Tune was a Good Performance mod even without adding a supercharger, cams, pistions, rods, ect.
You asked JoeR like if he hadn't done a tune his Supercharger install would not have lasted, I was merely stating that with todays cars, a Tune is pretty much a Given when it comes to doing Performance Mods.
Kinda came out sounding like you agreed with the guy stating a supercharger install would only last a couple months. (To me at least it did.)
And as far as your "Nah... I better not." comment. Feel free to PM me at any time and speak your mind.

Easy to misread or read into things said online. I sure was NOT bashing you or your car in Any way shape or form GB.
