Not worth the hassle for little savings. You won't have the nutserts or mounting templates.

Okay let me see if I can answer all the questions at once...

1) I paid $172.90 to gmpartsdirect.com. The part number for chromse is 19159799.

2) Yes, we installed the side rails ourselves and it's pretty easy. It involves properly positioning the included templates, center-punching drill locations, and of course drilling. Once the holes are there you use an included tool to mount threaded receivers for the bolts. Once that's all done it's just mounting and torquing down the bolts.

3) I believe the other finishes are the same price.

4) I'll post some pics once the car has been washed and I locate my camera. Check back.

Did you use "super Lube"

I just received my roof rack and and am ready to install. It says to apply "GM Super Lube Part number 1237128" to the rivet nuts.

Did you use the GM 1237128 Super Lube or some other product?

Where do you get the GM stuff on Sunday...

Thanks in advance

I just used a little dab of anti-seez on mine. I don't thing it raely matters as long as you lube it with somthing. I beleve the idea is to lube it so it will be less likely to spin the nut serts out of the sheet metal.

Not sure, I looked up into it deeper and it appears it is to stop corrosion. See below:

Installed Accessories Fastened by Drilled Holes #03-00-89-008B - (01/27/2004)
Models:
2004 and Prior Passenger Cars and Trucks
2003-2004 HUMMER H2
This bulletin is being revised to emphasize the importance of using only GM Vehicle Care Super LubeŽ with PTFE, P/N 12371287 (Canadian P/N 10953437), whenever the corrosion protection of a panel has been compromised due to drilling. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 03-00-89-008A (Section 00 -- General Information).

That maybe I used touch up paint on the drilled holes before I installed the nut serts.
