By then I'll be due for a paint job and will buy the clear bra to protect the new paint!

Clear Bra

There is an ebay store that sells the whole kit for $24.95+SH. It is called XtremeCity. I heard about these kits a long time ago. I'm thinking about getting one. My car looks horrible right now! The only thing it doesn't cover is the grill but I have a solution for that too. My brother took nylon screening, put some small eyelets in it and zip tied it to the grill of his truck. For those of us here in Florida, we know how they pile up on the radiator too. The only bad thing I can see is after love bug season, cleaning it may present a problem. It could get pretty nasty looking and I wouldn't want to run around with it on looking all nasty. Worse scenario would be taking it off and reapplying it for the 2nd season (We get them in the spring and fall)

Love Bugs

I was reading an articale in the Bradenton Herold this morning about Love Bugs & it said that they are out during the day and not at nite, If that's true when we head to New York on the 31st of May were going to leave at 1AM so not to run into the Bugs?
Does anyone know if Love Bugs are just in Florida & if not how far North are they.

I did some research since I posted last and if you put Spray Pam on the front of your Vehicale before you go on a trip the Love Bugs don't stick to the finish , They will wash right off as told to me at the Chevy Dealer today when we took our HHR in for an oil change and Tire rotation.
Looked up Love Bugs on the Internet and they said if you are going on a trip in Florida do your driving at nite or early morning on account of the Love Bugs are not out.
There have been claims the Love Bugs have been sited as far North as Columbia South Carolyna but the experts say it's a Bug that looks like Love Bugs but are not.
Hope this above information is helpful to HHR owners.

Those are NOT Japanese beatles...not even close. Simple research will prove this.

We must be lucky here in the Florida panhandle. We haven't seen many love bugs so far this year. Maybe the lack of rain has helped us.

HHRGranny, what part of Florida are you from?

ugh...let me tell you..the rental HHR I had in San Antonio last October did not fare much better than that guy...it was a sandstone but by the time I turned it in it was bright yellow/green from the 1000's of bull snout moths or whatever they are called I slaughtered

Maybe someone from the San Anton area can chime in but all I know is the area around Lackland was overrun with them
