Lower Grill Idea

I was looking at that "hole" in the front today and said to myself "something has to go there". I know there's a billet one and gutter guard is a good idea but I went and installed something a little different. It's metal lathe for stucco. You can get 2' by 4' sections at any building supply place. It bends, cuts and forms real easy, has a diamond hole pattern and a silvery-chrome look that matches the upper grill (sort of like really, really thick tinfoil). I installed a few pieces that were hanging around the house and it looks pretty good and should do a nice job of keeping road junk from hitting the radiator. I put it behind the hole and just bent it around things to keep it in place. We'll see how that holds up.

Sorry, no pictures, yet. It's dark outside now so I'll try to post something within the next few days.

Sounds cool. I went with the gutter guard myself.

Lathe - same stuff I used a few years back, and it has held up very well. I hit mine with some flack black (stealth mode )

Oh - did anyone mention that we need pics?

Ah, yes. Never let 'em see the lower grill coming.

Let us reflect on the poignant words of The 3 Stooges' Moe Howard: "Why you I oughta..."

Keep in mind that almost all of the cooling air comes through that opening. I had the gutter guard on my LT for a while and noticed about 10 degree F higher coolant temp.
