The 2007 models in Canada come with running boards as standard equipment.

I have about 7,000 kms (4,200 miles) on mine and only have light sandblasting on the protectors. If the weatherman cooperates, I'll be putting the running boards on this weekend.
Let me know how it goes...only have seen one DIY

maybe...depends on the dealer

-or-

how much you're willing to hassle them

do a search and you'll see plenty of examples

I had this problem last year, and the dealer ( after a long wait ) installed running boards and repainted the affected area for FREE.I am in Quebec Canada.I can say that with the boards this problem was solved,no more sandblasting.Just as a precaution I added some of the 3M clear plastic films to that areas also.My dealer did a great job on the boards and paint.I hope this helps you out.The Canuk!!

Can you put the gravel guards on as extra precaution? Notice that HHRs with running boards do not come with the gravel guards.

I think the 3M film is a great idea! Black Rose, I'd be making some calls!

If you don't have the boards now and get them installed after delivery...just ask the dealer to leave them on...I did.
