Lamin-X... Was it easy to put on? And can you see the brakelights clearly?

yes you can see the brake lights fine, but it does take a while to put on. Because of the curves of the tail lights.

I can't/don't know how to post pics, but does anybody know what that Harvey person used on his taillights? You can see the pic in a couple of members' galleries (booksmitty, modestohhrclub).
The lamin-x would work great, but it's really not dark enough, IMO. Thanks for the tip, though!

To elaborate on what CH said; Harvey has black-tinted clear lacquer sprayed on his lenses. Most custom paint shops can handle this job for you.

Even though you remarked about NOT using the tint. You might want to reconsider.

I used the VHT brand (I bought a case for a different project ) and also tried it on some clear plastic. This stuff is specially formulated for adhesion to the clear plastic. After drying properly, It takes really aggresive scrubbing with steel wool to get it off (but, doesn't work worth "crap" on chrome ).

Just a thought !!!!

Tad off topic.... what is the dimension of the tail light and back up light? I can't get to the turtle right at the moment, but do have free time to do some drawing that I can send to a vinyl cutter

Black-tinted clear lacquer.. cool cool... I'll have to look into that.
As for the tint, I know it's durable and all, but it just wasn't dark enough for me. Maybe I could just use a whole lot of it, though

Anyway, thanks to all. This is going to be one of the first actual custom things I do to my HHR (so far I have only gotten the front windows to match the back ones). So yea... I just want to do it right the first time, ya know? So thanks again...
