DYED FILMS
Pros
-The cheapest of all tints.
Cons
-Provide the least protection from the sun.
-Will not last more that a year under extreme conditions.
-Contains no metal.
-Will change color after a short period. Most noticed by turning purple.
Bubbling.
-Hard to remove.

CERAMICS
Pros
- No metals
- The ultimate in heat rejection (infrared light is the leading cause of heat)
- Provides more protection than cheaper and darker films
- Will not fade and long lasting
Cons
- Expensive
- Not easy to apply

Thanks for the assist Mark.

But the guy that installed the tints on Dory had the easiest time putting the ceramic tint on the front windshield.

No problem I got that info from a buddy that's been doing tint longer than I've been alive. I'm sure if you do one thing long enough, you're bound to get good at it sooner or later

And just to add a little for non-ceramic, it will last a long time as long as you get a good quality professional tint. My ZX3 was working on 9 years and still looked like new until we got a fix it ticket and had it removed. No discoloration, bubbling, etc.

And also make sure you clean them w/ non ammonia cleaners. Ammonia actually helps to remove the tint.

True, but they should tell you that when you get the tint as well as not rolling down the windows for x number of days.

So any respectable car shop should know what Im talking about right? That's the first time I ever heard or ceramic tint and I think its sounding like a better option. How is it applied?
