adjust the gains on your amp. Set them as low as you can then turn on your stereo to half way. Start your car and then slowly turn your gains back up. If you start to hear the whine again then slowly turn them back down a little.

was just told to that when they took my battery out of the equation that the noise went away. Sweet! Now I have a good excuse for my wife to let me get a red top. Yeah!

Let us know about the optima. Because it's been suggested not to use one because the battery can't "breathe" back under the trunk. (even though the optimas are SEALED...I think they CAN vent, correct?)

Anyway, I'd love to put a yellow top in mine...but also want to be safe.

What size (model #) did she get...and was it hard to mount it back there? How is it mounted?

Thanks in advance,

I don't remember what model it is. It went in pretty easy. Maybe a little finagling with the ground wire but all in all real easy. I think its harder to pull out the spare tire than it is to get the Optima to hook up.

GDZHHR has a gel cell in his ride also. Its not an Optima but it does the trick.

Ok so I swapped batteries with my wife. Yeah umm. still have the same problem. Now I get to disconnect the battery ground from the body to scrape off the primer and see if that helps any.
