Amp repair
Hi Jerry,
Do you have the premium pioneer system? Those amps are going for 50-70 on ebay (search "hhr amp"), and I think would be a plug-n-play replacement. I know the head unit requires some dealer VIN flash to work w different vehicles, you should confirm on the amp.
I just ripped my whole factory system out for aftermarket, it's not tough at all, just fairly tedious with all the rear panels.
There are some nice how-to's on panel removal on this site, give it a quick search and you should find some good pics and instructions to easily get to your amp. Hope that helps!
Let me know if you're interested, thanks!
Clint

Ooops, I originally started my message as a PM, then accidentally copied personal info and pasted it as a thread response. Thanks for catching that!
Back on topic, the factory Pioneer Premium system amp can be found on Ebay for $50-70. I think it is a direct swap, but since head units have to be flashed by a dealer with the VIN from the donor car, you might want to check on that.
There are several threads on here with detailed instructions and pics on removing the rear panels to access the amp, which is mounted on the sub box. A quick search should pull up all the info you need to get to it. Good luck!
