I think F is the best option--but have him pay for the market value of the radio ($400+).

And as your Counselor, a suggestion of some anger management classes.

By the sounds of it, classes for both Brad and his son are in order.

Oh yeah, that's what we need. We would end up before a judge after we throttled the counsler. Then we would be on the chain gang in south texas.

I think I get a nice chain and make a necklace out of it and make him wear it for a month.

I elect 'A', but I am gonna say just 'E'....

Sit there and explain that it was more than money. It is about simple respect for others and their property. Then say your gonna explain the feeling you had with an example. Take him and the ipod out to the workbench.... give him the hammer.... make him smash the crap out of it many times! Don't back down at this point! Make him do the hitting. Then NEVER buy a replacement. I am sure the event will stick with him, and the fact that he has to wield the hammer gets you off the 'my dad smashed it' hook. Even if he tells his friends, they will look at him like he was crazy for following your directions! Win Win with lesson learned :) In theory :)

I would do E and F. But keep your options open for A, if he does it again.

I would do nothing. Let him ride in silence until he can figure out to get it to make music again.

Otherwise, a $100 can get you quite a few car washes and weeds pulled....

AND..Then take the largest piece and string it on a chain and make him wear it as a necklace so he NEVER forgets and will have to explain it to everybody who asks.....
