LEDs OK to install??
LEDs OK to install??
Hello everyone!
Just joined the forum and glad to see so many Chevy enthusiasts. We just purchased our 2007 HHR 2LT (sport red; shiny chrome) in August '06 and couldn't be happier (pics coming soon).
My questions concern LED light bulb replacements. In my experience with my 1999 Saturn SL1, I placed LEDs in the tail lights and burned up a couple fuses within 2 blocks of driving. To my recollection, they did not have load resistors and considering that Saturn was basic transportation, it did not have a flasher equipped to deal with low load resistance of LED lights. If I were to replace the factory bulbs (model for model) with the correct LED light (or cluster), do I need to purchase and install a new flasher and / or a load resistor??
Is there a certain type or name brand of LED that is suggested for HHR? I've seen some products on amazon.com and superbriteled.com, but I don't want to purchase the lights if they're going to blow my fuses.
Thanks for your insights!

You can always check with our Supporting Vendors. I know SoCal HHR's sells a tail light kit that includes resisitors for a good price. Check'em out.
