I bought one and wired it in but it didnt work (however I'm no electrician or audio guy...lol) so I just put the factory radio back in and gave my cousin the Pioneer for his truck..lol.

The youtube I posted showed a CB in the DIN slot and a scanner on the roof. I thought that might give you an idea as to how.

I'd mount it to the headliner if I knew it could support it. If feels solid but I'm not sure if its plastic based or fiberglass.

Stiff cardboard. But there are things mounted under the antenna. Unless yours is 2006-2007 that's where the RCDLR lives and the antenna amplifier is there.

Mines a2011 LT....it just felt solid to the touch beneath the foam. I was hoping for plastic so I could use self tappers...lol. Justmy luck..lol.
