Roof flex
Ok I am getting a lot of roof flex since I put in the stereo. My question is what is a good way to prevent this. I know Dynamat bu thats a lot of area to cover. Is there another way thats more cost effective and/or how much dynamat to stop the flex

Umm, weld 1/4" steel plate under the roof? But then how would you shoot cool videos of your cell phone bouncing up and down on it?
I would think dynamat would reduce it, but theres just too much flex to eliminate it, and I have the roof rails.
Oddly, before I had my system in I had to get the rattling headliner re-stuck to the roof. I was worried the whole thing would come down after feeling the amount of movement, but its been ok so far.
My biggest rattle and buzz is coming from the rear hatch and a little coming from the rear quarters. Ill have to take off the interior panels and see what I can do for insulating it.

I'm confused Why does installing a stereo suddenly make your roof flex?

I know about the taillight access panels. Did you do in between the upper and lower side panels? In the rear hatch? Thats where it seems most rattling is coming from.

I did my whole car with Raamat. The hatch was by far the aera which made the most difference. The doors were a very close second.
The roof the least noticeable. Except when it rains. Really knocks that sound down a lot.
