Now to necrobump, I found my answer here about the pioneer system..... luckily there 'apparently' is a factory adapter ring in the door already so I do not need that, but what about the plug? I wanted to get the Metra Harness adapters

to minimize splicing and whatnot, but one of the reviewers stated that the plug for the upgraded system is different? Does ANYONE sticking around on the forum know the answer? I tried asking the Facebook page and of course was met with a wide variety of answers. Im glad I have the Pioneer system because it sounds GREAT, but upgrading is beginning to look like a pain.

Man! I hate the way forum search engines work, or don’t work is more like it. That’s a half hour of my life I won’t ever get back!

So, I’m gonna jump into some new speakers for the doors. Went to Car Toys and they wanted to put these in -

Want to go with 6-1/2s, so that would be

My question after extensive searching is, what is the maximum depth or height that us HHR owners need to not inhibit the travel path of the windows??

Don’t ask me how I know, but this used to be a thing in the olden days, where you’d put a speaker in the door and have a very very warm day due to lack of ventilation! : > )
Sorry the correct link is this for the 6-1/2 is https://www.crutchfield.com/p_091RCX...hoCJy4QAvD_BwE

I don't recall anyone ever asking or having a problem with depth. No problems I remember with putting the back cover on them either (what ever you call the protector/reflector thingies).

Awesome! Thanks for the reply! The manufacturer must've figured out a thing or 2 in the last 30 years! LOL
