Mine has air bags under the A pillars. Can't safely mount or cut anything on the pillar trim with air bags.

Same here, with my 2011 2LT, thanks FMG, I was only thinking about the side curtain air bags, wasn’t sure about them under the A pillar trim.

This photo from the IIHS shows the side airbags do go down those A pillars

Mine does too.
I mounted the tweeter at an angle (pointed at each other) and made it so they fit within the little plastic grooves on the inside that sit against the metal so they don't touch anything. If you take the cover off, you can see what I mean. These tweeters only have an inch or so of depth. But you can still space them out on the face side if needed.

Btw...I took them off to do the cutting...........lol its only one screw and a pop in clip that holds them on...

Yes...hole is ugly. I found a new set at the junk yard so I can mangle these anyway I want for fun and testing.

Best thing I've ever done. They sound so much better at exact ear level. And the hump no longer blocks them from off-axis positioning like the stock location! I haven't even time aligned them yet.

Here are some inside pics of the cover.

the air bag is on the very bottom anyway. On the flat part that faces you. So it's not really an issue.

these pics should show how I mounted it better. I made sure not to go past the little brackets so it will snap back in perfectly.

I also have a USB extension up there for the dash cam (hard wired for ignition turn-on)
