Is that just labor? I would think genuine dynamat for roof and rear cargo area would be around 400 just for materials. Its expensive stuff.

Yeah I confirmed with the installer and he stated that $400 is just the parts and the labor he assumes is probably about 75 dollars an hour and he does not know how much he will take to do my car... I guess I can wait...

Or am I better off just installing the OEM box inside the panel of my HHR?

Go and listen to an HHR with the subwoofer installed, decide if thats enough for you. You might get a little more using a higher power 8" sub and amp, enough to hear some of the lows, but you sure wont feel it the same as a high power 12" in a large box.

Yeah that is so true.. The problem is I do not know anyone with the woofer installed... Most of my friends and co-workers have other type of cars... I hate to ask this again but can someone give me like a grandma type explanation what is better ported or sealed? The reason I ask again is because sealed looks like smalled box but ported is bigger but at the same time I would like to feel the BASS in my car...

Thanks

John

Yup, youve got it. Sealed is smaller with better detail sound, ported is bigger and louder. One is not better than the other, it depends on what you want more.
In general, sealed is for sound quality, ported is for higher output.
And to listen to an HHR with the premium system, just go the dealership.

If I go to the dealer I might end up trading my car in....LOL...

So sealed is for more like sound quality? better response to BASS?

Instead of just LOUD!! Period?

Thanks

John
