What do I need to upgrade radio to bluetooth?

That was because they were fresh on the BT system and ran into an issue with the Mute line. He charged me 3 hrs labour, but actually worked on it for 6 hrs to get it right.
The relay he tied into to make it work is the turn signal relay, so when the handsfree system is on, there's no relay clicking for the turn signals.
The trigger for the mute line with Onstar in the car is a negative volt trigger that is at the back of the car. The problem with the Bury kit related to that is that it uses a positive volt trigger system. The relay allowed for that to work.
Apparently there are kits for Parrot and another handsfree system with GMs for the radio mute line.
So yes, originally the plan was $120 for the install. If I did it myself, much cheaper, but I'm getting less flexible to work on my own car these days (when you're over 250lbs and 6'4" I think you get my point).
I'll see about taking some shots of how it looks installed. Video perhaps of how it works with iLane?

I know this isn't "Factory" but I just added a Parrot 3200LS BT module with a pre made harness from a place called quickconnects. It works really well with a small exception. I have an 08 with the premium pioneer system......the issue is the volume. When I am on the phone I can not use the radio volume to adjust how I hear the other person. I have to use the Parrot volume control. I just set it at a level I like and it works great. The costartech solution is really nice cause it plugs into your factory onstar and uses a Motorala HF850 BT module (or equivilent aftermarket BT module) but still suffers from not being able to adjust the volume (according to them last time I called approx 4 months ago). If you don't have the premier amplified audio system then the quickconnects and costartech solutions work seemless just like factory BT would work. Just FYI

You dont want GM's radio with the USB port......unless you are prepared for headache after headache and spending money trying to find a flashdrive that will work in it. I have it and it sucks. I've spent over $100.00 trying to find a flash that works. I work for GM and have talked to an engineer on the phone who admitted that they NEVER tested any compatible flash drives.....so they have no clue what will work and what wont. I have one that works.....but it works on and off. The whole system sucks.....but it's your dime if you want to try..............

I was considering updating my 08 to a USB radio. Has anyone done this? Does everyone have compatibility issues with flash drives? I plan to use my MP3 player - just want the ability to use radio controls to control the MP3 player. Any help appreciated!!!
