2008 hhr ss
Doing the work yourself ?
I've had my struts out before to replace the springs (lowering springs ). Pretty easy job as long as you've got a spring compressor.
Rear shocks are simple. Heck, you don't even have to remove the wheels on a SS because you can reach the shock bolts between the rim spokes.

Rats - sorry I didn't read this yesterday! If it's not too late, check out RockAuto.com as I just replaced lots of front end parts on mine - spent $450 for everything but Lower Control Arms (aka LCA's).
You should probably replace everything with that many miles - end links, sway bar bushings. I did NOT replace the LCAs but the car doesn't feel like a safe in a wheelbarrow any more! Improved it LOTS - especially under boost.
BTW - i used all ACDelco parts because it just seemed like too many problems with making the other choices actually work.
Hope I'm not too late with this RockAuto suggestion -

Struts
Update:
GM Parts Center strut kits are NOT KITS, bare struts, plus one strut was missing the nylon top nut. GM Parts Center wants 15% restocking fee PLUS return shipping at my expense - $55.00 via Fed-Ex even though they shipped UPS. Guess I'll live and learn - never buy parts from them again.
Found these complete struts at CarID for much less money and they're supposed to fit all models - anyone use them before?

With those Moogs you will be getting what you paid for. They are not SS specific, they will most likely fit great, but the spring and shock rates will not be to SS specs. and who knows how much higher the front of the ss will sit. Note they say they fit all models.
You really need to go back and read some of the earlier posts in this thread about the specifics of the FE5 suspension.
These are the only ones I think anyone has found that are SS specific:
FE5 Suspension (SS):
- GM: P/N 19179738 (right side) - P/N 20794824 (left side) - (from member andyb)
- AC DELCO: 506667 (right-side) - P/N 560581 (left side) - (from member sinabu)

Moog online keeps coming up with rear hatch strut, nothing on front suspension at all. Gabriel website shows fitting all EXCEPT SS. Bilstein kits at various vendors you have to assemble.
Does ANYBODY sell the assembly for the 2008 HHR SS?
