Working on doing the same to my '06 2LT. Replacing the bushings is turning into a pain but I will succeed.

Junk yards, internet are a great way to track the parts down. The HHR/Cobalt have been out of production now for a while so there should be some around in junk/salvage yards. I used a website called car-parts, its a junk yard website for parts, great way to track it down.

X2 with car-parts. ebay is also useful. I found my axle beam in St. Louis. Bushings and hubs - MOOG, brake discs, pads, rotors - PowerStop, brake lines, parking brake cables, hardware - Raybestos. Total cost of $850.00 plus time to install. Oh, and $200 for bushing tool J44570, which I now have and will let others use for the cost of shipping.

HHR 2011- does the same caliper bracket work for the larger rotors used with Brembo s

I tried buying an SS rear axle but the junk yard never sent to pics before I drove the 200 miles to go buy it, so I moved on to other projects.

The Supercharger is going in before I add rear disks now.

But a good how to with part #'s included would be very cool if you did it without buying a SS rear axle.

Fronts look good.
Does the bracket used for regular SS brake caliper also work with Brembo caliper and the larger brake rotor setup?

In a word no

SS caliper brackets non Brembo

Brembo calipers, you’ll need new brake hoses

But don’t be shy, go big!
14.5 inches diameter rotors, tuck nicely into 18” SS wheels

These look awesome
