I was not a mechanic was in sales and marketing, but I was building a car designd the chassis an suspension was going to ba 1924 C cab delivery wagon mid-engine with a small block chevy with a 68 corvaie 4 speed trans. with a Kelmark adapter untile the wife wanted the garage back, should have divorced her sooner.

You bet....China and India produce much better steel coils/bars/sheet with a guarantee of consistent thickness, Rockwell and content, than good ol' U.S., Japan, Canada...(tongue in cheek)

While the technology to make better steel exists, don't expect to see it come out of China.

I bought my car used so I am assuming from the lack of other things done to it they were the original and I got 74K out of them but that was pushing an extra 10k out of them. I still have a clunking sound from the front.

Probably sway bar bushings or end links..

When I pulled my stock struts @ 65k they were absolutely done.

Moog makes a end link that has grease fittings, also find out the diameter of the sway bar & bushing size(if they're not completly fried the mm size is molded on the outside, my 08Cobalt uses 19mm) and buy some aftermarket polyurethane ones . Some of them have grease fittings also. But replace both, as both can be a source of knocks & squeaks.
