What rotors did you get for that cheap? The pads I'm seeing are all in the $40-$50 alone.

$120 just to turn them is a bit high. I called Oreilly's and they charge $15 a piece to turn rotors if you bring them in. I've got the to my HHR looked at later this week for a shifting issue, and depending on how that turns out as to whether or not is covered under the powertrain warranty, then I will decide on whether to just try to have them turned or outright replace them.

Instead of spending $100+ on new rotors, I opted to take them off and have O'reilly's turn them for only $27 total (after military discount). I remeasured the rotors with a micrometer and they only took off 10/1000s of an inch, which is very good in my book. The right measures .991, and the left is at .986, which is well above the discard thickness of .906" The runout on both is now <.002". I put new Wagner Thermoquiet pads on that I got via an Advance Auto online coupon ($59 - $20coupon - $15 rebate).

The car sure stops a lot quicker, and the pulsing is gone. Hopefully the rotors will hold out for a while. I drove around my neighborhood today bedding them in good. If they pulse more later down the road, I will probably replace them next time as I don't want to keep turning and turning them.
