I used the SS/SC springs because I wanted to keep the ride as comfortable as possible, however I was changing from F-3 rear springs on a 2LT.
I drove the HHR without the sway bar for several weeks and then put the new TTR bar on.
During that short test without the TTR sway bar I found no noticeable negative effects and the ride was about the same as the F-3.
I only found an improvement in cornering at all speeds once the bar was installed.
By the way ... you can lose control with any combo Spring or Bar if you do not pay attention to what maneuvers you are making.
The Tires and Road conditions play a Major role as well.
All things being Equal .... the Springs, Bar, and Tires I chose have made a very positive noticeable difference.

FWIW ....I also run 215/60/16 Michelin I3 tires and they run smooth and quiet while providing snow and ice duties....
I just finished shoveling 26" of fresh snow here a couple weeks ago.

I picked the 'balt SS/TC springs so long ago because they were stiffer, & I have (FE3) a 2LT, So I never felt any ill handling problems, quite the opposite, it handled much better with a lower center of gravity.
Then after I did add a TTR rear sway bar, that I felt was a well matched combo for my 2LT Panel.
And in the almost 10 years, the rear is level with the front. Plus I can still haul as I do. And still haul butt in the twisties.

Many rides thru the years & one thing is consistent, I mod them all.. LOL

Boy, you two are lucky you are still alive. Sleeper, that sway bar in essence changes the spring rate via the roll rate - could have killed you.

It handles excellent.
Why would anybody need to even think about cut springs on an HHR with all the other optional springs and bars available.

SF
Mine too.

I had the back of mine lowered for 9 years with Ground Force leveling springs... Last fall I decided for "safety's sake" to install a full Ground Force lowering kit...

I feel better now.

Sway bars are totally fine. NO questions there. They don't alter the balance in unpredictable ways.

People that alter the spring rate on only one end of the vehicle need to think about what they are doing, and how they measure dynamics to ensure that they haven't just eliminated emergency handling. Why do that on only one end of the vehicle? Does that make any sense at all? WHEN it starts to spin out, can YOU handle it? (Most likely not, but that was the point). You can easily tilt the balance toward much worse doing this without measurements...

The cut coil thing was intended as a joke. Ricers do stuff like lowering one end, or both, in crude, illogical ways. Which is what I thought I was reading. You wanna be ricer... buy a Civic. Carry on, but please think. The world has enough ricers already...

(Rice = Race-inspired cosmetic enhancements. Not actual performance improvements. It is NOT racist. Most I have seen are dumb white kids in the US.)
