Need suspension suggestions

I don't know where you live but I have trouble with the factory suspension in the spring with potholes lol Wondering what additions you might suggest for my 2008 full panel?

...painted the 2008 Harley Davidson two tone black and orange, HD mudflaps, some HD accessories inside, custom front grills, and visor...really enjoy it and this was my first winter driving.

.
If you were to start a thread with some specifics we could probably help you. This thread died a long time ago.

A great idea, Donbrew.

Suggestions for your suspension, if it’s busted up from potholes then KYB front struts and rear shocks, a TTR rear sway bar, Moog lower control arms , front swaybar bushings and swaybar end links .

we have part numbers in here

We get a discount from RockAuto, the shipping isn’t that expensive to Canada, trust me , I’ve got dozens of their magnets.

if you plan on doing this job yourself we have many how to threads, just search through our search window.

Oh, and welcome to the site!!

Investigating this for my '11 1LT, I discovered that there are 3 possibilities. The SS models have a "performance" strut designated FE5. The standard strut tailored for "soft ride" is FE 1. The FE 3 included in the 2LT and perhaps others is for "sport" applications. The latter two use the same spring. The FE 5 uses a spring which lowers your ride and I believe is only available from AC Delco.

That is FE1, FE3 and FE5. FE1 & FE3 parts are interchangeable and mostly identical.

Yeah, we have known this since 2005.

FE 1 the base suspension or soft ride come with the LS and the 1LT
FE 3 is optional in the 2LT package has firmer springs and struts and shocks are stiffer for a Touring ride
FE 5 Is firmer again for the sport ride with a lower ride height

for replacement FE3 is normally the designation in most descriptions and you must be aware the SS suspension is lower but not as low as a set of lowering springs.

for struts and shocks, KYB are excellent for all 3 FE packages.

HHR SS / FE5 springs will only lower 3/4 inch on other HHRs. info source from a long time member who did this swap.
