pads and rotors for 2009 lt?
pads and rotors for 2009 lt?
Hi Folks! I just wasted way too much time on amazon trying to find new pads and rotors for my 2009 2lt.
Way too many options and way too many that amazon says doesn't fit but the reviews say they do....
Any suggestions on either a complete kit or the pads and rotors separately?
I checked the parts list here and didn't see rotors listed.
Note: It is not advisable to shop on amazon if you haven't eaten.....
Thanks in advance!
Steve

I find ebay to be better for that kind of thing. As long as it does not say "fits all" or "fits SS" you should be OK; LS and LT are the same. 2009 was a transition year for the rear brakes. Brake parts have fairly standard part numbers. I usually shop online at Advance or AutoZone to get the part number then search the part number on ebay.
Thank you Don for the great advice and tips!!
I believe I have drums in the back so am just doing the fronts, been getting a grinding sound from the front drivers side brake..... so I figure if I am going in there, I might as well swap both on both sides :-)

I'm assuming a 2009 has more than 150,000 miles. If it was me I would redo the rears completely, shoes, drums, springs maybe cylinders if they leak.
Front brakes should start "screeching" long before the get metal to metal. If the groove is gone the pads are worn out. Monitor the fluid reservoir; it tells you how much wear there is on the fronts (unless it has been topped off).
Grinding can be the hub/bearing or the LCA. ALWAYS replace thing in pairs or be prepared for extra work and tears.
Unless you have a SS you do have drums in the rear.

151151 to be exact :-)
It only makes the grinding noise when braking which is why I thought it would most likely be the pads and rotors. Yes I am familiar with the "screech" noise of worn pads, but never heard it with this....
It sounds a lot like the noise of this one at the beginning of this video...
