Lil update.... I have put a lil over 5000 miles on these springs now and all I can say is pure awesomeness!! If anyone is thinking about getting them you wont regret it when you do. Rides smooth as stock and the stance is perfect.

Just wondering if they have settled at all. Did you measure the height after the install? And what are they now?

the only thing im worried about with these springs are the 'dead' coils.. how they are purposely bunched up..those are going to rub and scratch up then rust just like the other ones

Coils should NEVER rub anything or each other. Rubbing together is coil binding. This is from either a bad design or the wrong spring application. A third possibility could be bump stops cut off too much or missing altogether.

This is incorrect. Wait for Powell to chime in for specific reasoning, he said himself that he need to have a few dead coils to get the right spring rates I believe.

So you're saying that when you hit a good bump that the coils are supposed to slam together with a nice loud "clunk"? I would hope not. I don't think anyone would design a spring to coil bind on purpose. That just doesn't make sense.
My original Pedders did that. A loud clunk in the rear from every medium or larger bump. Very irritating noise. I know have the redesigned Pedders in the rear. Quiet as can be and no coil binding.

Coil bind doesnt vary based upon small spring travel. If you look at a loaded YYZ spring, the coils sit on top of each other, so maybe I guess if you went airborne for a few seconds they could expand and slam back together, but otherwise they are already sitting on each other.
