Rotor opinions?

What is the general opinion on drilled and slotted rotors for these vehicles? Worth it? More bling than bang?

Only experience I have with them are on my Excursion and my former Super Duty truck, which are whole different animals. They made a world of difference as far as life of the rotor goes on these vehicles that were nearly always towing heavy. I just wanted to know if they are worth it on the HHR before I plop the greenbacks down for a pair of Powerstops.

If you need new calipers get this kit, it comes powder coated with calipers and brackets

It’s getting harder and harder to find caliper brackets.

The drilled and slotted rotors do look good. Especially with the big Brembo rotors.

As far as I can tell, the people who really need drilled slotted rotors for their track cars don’t put them on their daily drivers. I have filed them in the ALL SHOW NO GO drawer along with cold air intakes and fart cans on otherwise unmodded motors and other stuff that’s easy to bolt on but looks silly once you understand it.

Ditto. I just get the coated ones to keep them from getting all rusty. Note that the Camaro SS with Brembos comes with blank rotors.

Racers do it to save unsprung weight. Throwing more cooler air is what cools them. Warping is usually caused by non-adjusted rears, and bad LCA bushings feel like warped rotors.
