Shock - Strut prep info

I just picked up a 06 LT with 93,000 miles on it. The shocks and struts are stock and blown. I am going to pick up some replacements and tackle the project myself. I have done this type of work on my 07 Tahoe so this should be like working on a go cart Is there a write up on this anywhere? I figure I will get the Moog sway bar end links while I am at it. Do I need to worry about replacing anything other than the shock/strut while I have everything apart? Thanks for any advice as i want to get all my parts rounded up before I start this project.

You may want to consider bushings poly.

Bought the KYB's off ebay for $216 shipped to my door. Picked up the Moog end links at the local parts store.

Are you running FE1's? if you want to stay with the stock brand AC Delco(believe it or not the best available), you can upgrade to the FE3's which are the sport(think 2lt), or the FE5's performance ones off the SS.

Update

The install went pretty smooth. I could not find the strut mounts locally and the dealer wanted $100 each for them so I bought a set off Ebay. They are not here yet so I installed the new struts anyway. The car rides great but now I can hear the popping from the old mounts. Once the new ones show up I will tear it back apart and throw them in.
