Strut/Quick Strut

Strut/Quick Strut
I just had my state inspection done, 50,000 miles. They told me my right front strut was blown, leaking. Assuming this is true what's the best route? Factory strut replacement-single or pair. Aftermarket-KYB or the like. I would do a quick strut myself, but I can't seem to find any.
I'm assuming at this mileage warranty is not going to happen, seems pretty premature, I've never had one go like this before.

Struts or shocks should always be done in pairs, some "interesting" ride and handling issues can result from only changing one.
I went with KYB shocks and struts and couldn't be happier, but other brands are also good.
Monroe pulled the Quick Struts after issues with the springs not being the proper size/spring rate for the HHR, people here used them and had problems.
50K is not premature if you believe what the strut manufacturers tell you, having lived in NY I can tell you that the potholes take a toll on suspension components faster than you'd expect.
If you're in doubt as to the veracity of the diagnosis, swing by another shop or a shock and strut place for a second opinion, places like Monroe check them for free(at least they do here in NC).
