The front struts maybe, I would be weary of the back shocks from a Cobalt because of the weight diffrence.

From what I have been able to find on the Cobalt SS forums, poking endlessly on the net and talking to my local GM parts dealers is that the Cobalt SS and HHR SS shocks are the same exact FE5 shock.

This has come up in the threads discussing the Cobalt SS springs being used in the back of an HHR for leveling.... I guess there's only a couple of hundred pounds difference between the two cars, so it's not really an issue.

What do you guys think about using the front quick struts from Monroe. They sell them as HHR products, but it has been found out that the springs are actually Cobalts. Will it cause a problem to install these on my HHR 1LT? Another thing is that I dont know if they are FE1, FE3 or FE5 . ..

If you do a search for that topic, I believe you'll find that owners that have installed them had problems and don't recommend them.

I just installed KYB struts and shocks on my LT1 along with Eibach springs. You can tell the difference from the stock FE1 touring suspension Don't go with Monroe's,they ride more like the stock FE1.
