I'm new to this forum, having bought a 2011 HHR LT a week ago. I've been reading about Cobalt SS springs to lower the rear so that the car sits level. I then went to my local dealer to get info on part numbers today. Now, my question is which of the following numbers should I purchase?

10390024 SPORT SUSP (FE3) 2005-2008

227054489 SOFT RIDE SUSP (FE1) 2005-1010

10390024 PERF & HANDLING SUSP (FE5) 2005-2007

25821162 PERF & HANDLING SUSP 2009

That is the GM Part # for 2008-'09 Cobalt SS/TC rear springs.. 25821162 Which I've had in back of mine for almost 3 years now..

1) 10390024 SPORT SUSP (FE3) 2005-2008 (same # as # 3)

2) 227054489 SOFT RIDE SUSP (FE1) 2005-1010 (crap)

3) 10390024 PERF & HANDLING SUSP (FE5) 2005-2007 (Cobalt SS/SC)

4) 25821162 PERF & HANDLING SUSP 2009 (Cobalt SS/TC 08-09)

But better deals may be had from sites like GM Parts Direct (online) & etc..

I purchased mine from a cobalt ss owner on cobaltss.net they just arrived today. I will post pics soon with step by step photos if possible and before/after shots. I also just bought my 2011 LT a few months ago and this site and the cobalt site have been of huge benefit. Plus everyone here seems friendly and nice enjoy the new ride :-)

I have my rear springs on yay :-)!!! Installing them was a breeze. I think including rotating my tires and checking my brakes it took maybe 30 minutes. Unfortunately my spring compressor is missing in action so in the morning I'll be making a trip to my local shop and getting the fronts put on. I love the new ride height and I've noticed less squat and dive under accel/decel. High speed sweepers really let me test out the attitude change and I can tell already it stays planted better and feels more in sync front to rear. Before the rear always felt like it rolled first in corners upsetting the chassis. I'm sure after the fronts and with a ttr rear sway bar that's coming soon I'll be in love lol. I'll post pics before and after once the fronts are on
