Just replaced a 2.4 on a 08 HHR. I spent The time labeling wires and with a stack of cups all bolts match. 100% of everything has been checked 5 times. Now, the original engine was brought to me with no oil a hand full of broken rocker arms and 2 codes
1. P0011
2. P0014
Upon cranking over new engine, no start no spark. Scan tool now has 2 codes. P0010 and P0013
Wouldnt clear.
Swapped both cam solenoids cleared codes.
My CAN OBS 2 doesn’t accept vin number.
I feel like an overheat sensor shut off ECM in original motor.

HELP!!! Don’t make me go the dealer!!

 

What engine was in the car originally?
What engine did you install?

 

If the car didn't start those codes are historic left over from the old engine
What do you mean "CAN OBS 2 doesn’t accept vin number"? The ECM tells the code reader the VIN. If the reader won't accept it then the reader needs to be updated.
"I feel like an overheat sensor shut off ECM in original motor." is BS from a mechanic who is afraid of computers.

My first guess is some pins got bent or pushed out of the ECM connectors. Or the fuse box has a problem.

 

Re inspect the connections and the positive wire to the fuse box under the hood and down to the starter.
Please explain what you mean by no start, you turn the ignition key to start and nothing? , or it clicks?
what voltage is the battery?
