The hardest part of the install was finding the socket that I dropped.

What is the difference between the auto and manual engine mounts? Just curious. Judging by all the pics I've seen, they all look the same.

That is becuase the photo on our site, is the manual upper mount (even on the auto upper mount page... ) We gotta get that updated.

At any rate, it is the offset of the upper support, the photo above is an auto upper, as the upper support is offset differently than the manual. Compare the black mount above with the mount photo's on our site, and you can see the profile difference. Easy visual check can tell which is which.

Now that I've had a chance to drive with it a bit, I'll give some impressions. With the original mount having many, many miles on it and an ethanol tune putting g*d knows how much torque on it, the car really wanted to pull to the right on launch. Now it seems that the dent in the seat behind me is the same depth on both sides. It transmits quite a bit more vibrations and engine noise. It gives it a nice growl sound. Sometimes my mirrors are a bit fuzzy, but I can live with that. The mount is partly covered by the washer fluid jug. I elected to go with the black mount/base since I won't see it much, but the inside part in red. My thinking was that the contrast would make it easier to inspect for integrity. It is a quality product that works as advertised. The auto SS is almost too smooth; this mount makes the car feel as connected and sporty as it should.
