I do this all the time to/from work...i work the small hills and it pays..with a 36 mph avg I consistantly see 30 to 33 mpg..on a 12.4 mile trip home from fuel stop I have a high of 36.2( but mostly 34+)...this is with ups downs and redlights...these cars will roll a long time in N..I tested it on occasion and have only lost 15 mph in a quarter mile on flat road..usually do this with known stops/redlights where I know 75% of the time I will have to stop anyways...in drive it will sloww down too fast from the engine..these cars dont use alot of fuel at idle....so there is a difference.

The throttle blade may be closed while coasting, but it has to take more fuel to keep it at 2800rpm rather than 800.
The 2800 RPM is not coming from ignition. It's coming from the transmission turning the motor.

I can feel the slight resistance a couple seconds after letting off of the accelerator...this is exactly when the instant MPG reads 99. :)

The TC lets loose after a few seconds of throttle release but the eng still spins..now drop in into I and that 99 drops to 73 or so because theres fuel again....

Yep. When driving in Intermediate mode, the engine stays on the power bands and is always ready to hole shot. :)
