Gas Mileage at 60 MPH?

Has anyone done a long trip with an HHR and maintained somewhere close to 60 MPH to see what kind of mileage this little truck will get?

If so what kind of oil were you using and any other mods you have made

Is 40 MPG possible from an HHR?

I've done a trip going mostly 60, but slowing down for small towns, etc, and I got 35 mpg and 500 miles on a tank. I don't know if you could get 40 mpg or not. I think it would be pretty unusually unless the entire trip is downhill or something.

Saw an indicated 40 MPG once while crossing Virginia at a steady 70. Usually I see about 32.5 to 34.5 on the average highway run, in town it sticks at about 25 to 27. Around these parts running at a steady 60 would land you in the hospital since you'll be rear ended at the very least. Just keeping up with the flow of left lane traffic on I-85 the other day I was averaging 90-95, its faster on Friday nights.

The "best" mileage I've ever gotten over a stretch was 38 mpg for about 300 miles, but averaging 55 mph. (must have been all down hill ). Usually I get about 32-24 when on the highway with a 2.4L auto,

I took mine on it first long trip into New Mexico last month, the speed limit was 75mph, just maintaining the speed limit up and down the hills on I40, I got 31 MPG. I was pleased with that, but I think it can get better.

From an "SS" ? Must be from that instant MPG readout.

Using only highway mileage from Hillsdale, Mi to Sandusky, Oh traveling 55 mph in the SS garnered us 38 mpg. Normal highway trips reflect about 34 mpg.
