Instant MPG Questions

I have both a 2006 and 2010 HHR. I see the new one has the instant MPG and see comments on this forum. Is there a good tutorial on how this works? Is it telling you, at any time you are driving, what MPG you are getting? Thanks.

It tells you how far you have pushed the petal to the floor.

It is more or less an accelerometer, whenever I drive a car with that feature I leave it on and watch my foot. You'll be amazed the gas mileage you can achieve by monitoring your foot based on that little feature.

i always keep it up on mine. That way I can find the sweet spots with pedal pressure and speed. Sometimes it makes a big difference

I drive with it also....you find that you can feather the petal and still maintain speed for a few extra points...Ive seen mine at "1"...
