I had this arsehole neighbor below me a few years ago, he had cats that would be out all the time. one early evening i look out over my balcony to see two of them trying to run up the hood of my car. I took a couple of pics of them on the car,and proceeded to go down to check the damage.
He comes out and asks me what im doing with a flashlight looking at my car.
I told him about his cats and he comes out with "not my cats mine are inside"
so i show him the pics, point to one of the cats under another car and tell him ill be sending him the repair bill.
I buffed out the scratches, got a body shop friend to make me out a bill, gave it to the arsehole and pocketed $150

Well folks... I got to tell you something! Being a cat lover... Killing them is not the answer. I am sure you all were just kidding? I have never not had a cat, and I have never had a cat scratch that I could not get out with a little elbow grease. I agree with HillsDaleHHR...this paint job is a piece, never seen worse. Although a little scratch remover and a fresh coat of wax, I never see them. Keep your car waxed and clean, you won't have a problem. Todd(Uma)

The paint on the wife's 2005 VW Beetle diesel is crap as well. Its dark gray metallic and on the roof and hood it has permanent water spot etching really bad. But only there, no where else. The fenders hold water droplets the same way but are fine. So it tells me that the paint on roof and hood is defective. Its still under warranty but I haven't built up the gumption to go to war with notoriously negative minded Volkswagen of America Customer Service about it yet.

People...It's only a car.....A very nice car. But only a car. It lives in the elements. rocks, weather, shopping carts, cats, doors on coupes,

Its going to get dinged and scratched. No sense losing sleep over it. I agree with the poster who said they are battle scars. Unless you park or live away from all living things you will drive yourself crazy worrying about little scratches and dings.

My only issue is why cat owners think their pets should run wild but they have a fit if my dogs run wild. The laws apply to all pets and they should be followed.

My neighbor has a cage he uses to catch cats then has the local pet organization pick them up. The owner is usually fined for letting their cat run wild. My neighbor owns several vintage Jaguars and got tired of the cat scratches on the paint. Can you blame him?
