Order Update

Well gang (& pappa smurf) my "delivery date" of Nov 3rd is almost over... No truck in sight! I asked my Dealer if there was more info: all I was told is that the "delivery date" is an estimate--and oft times cars arrive 5-6 days later..

I might just end up attending the G2T @ Tom's (SoCal HHR's) with the plastic-wrap still on the seats!!

Kinda weird--the dealer advised that the trucks drop-off cars "anytime" 24 hours a day! At my Dealer, this would mean out front in a public area...

I'll keep you posted... thanks!

Angry I hear ya,

My dealer still insists that he has not even received a shipping date yet.
I'm still up in the air about going to the G2G without my SS.
My Rooskie ex hasn't been to one of these and I told her that I would like to take her to it. But, I also added, that I would only go with my new ride.

"no Front Plate"

To Sargechris and Pappa Smurf,

One thing you might consider requesting of your salesperson is that "NOT" to install the factory supplied license plate bracket! I have been told that sometimes if requested correctly that they will just give you the bracket for you to install! Even though it is required in California to have a Front Plate, it is a much cleaner look without and the dealership will be placing some holes in the Bumper / Spoiler that would then need to be filled if you were to decide to not run a plate, (the clean factor). Best of Luck to the two of you and hope to see and meet you both this weekend, keys and HHR in hand!

Kevin & Bonnie: Yes--I have actually already told them "no drilling"--and watched them write it on the order.. (they understand that if they DO drill, they owe me a new front bumper).. I totally agree--on the SS it looks much better w/o a plate.. Besides--the hide-away plate setups aren't terribly expensive..

Pappa Smurf: I understand why you would not want to go to Tom's.. It's just that I am relatively close (about 45 min) and it's a GREAT motorcycle ride up there via back roads!

I drove by the Dealer about 1 hr ago--no SS sightings yet...

Sarge I know you are coming and looking forward to seeing you again!

Poppa, please come by anyhow! We would love to meet you and know you are (on order) in the HHR family regardless!

So are you saying all other HHR's look fine with a Front Plate? Just couldn't resist!

No--but maybe the non-SS versions look "less bad"?

The transport drivers should have keys to the dealers gate so they can park them on the lot and their should be a night drop box to put the vehicle keys and paperwork in. At least that's how our 24 hour delivery works.

Dealerships also have a storage lot where the cars are unloaded.
