2.2 or 2.4L and a few other questions.

They also have several other upgrades that you May or May not need or care about.
Personally I prefer the 1LT with the 2.4L option but they are much harder to find. Especially now that time has gone by and most HHR's have lots of miles.

Besides front end, well there’s the scale rust at the bottom of all five doors, power mirror switch , on 2009 and up LS and 1LT and 2LT models power window switches are in the drivers door, make sure they work.
Check the radio, the door speakers can get wet and short out.
I’ve seen rear coil springs break, great reason to order a set of lowering springs.
Look under the rear axle, is there a bonus TTR swaybar bolted to the rear axle?
If it’s got a wet looking silver thingy over the fuel and brake lines, just under the drivers side rear door in front of the rear tire, it a corroded fuel line, just smell gas but no drips, it the vapour line.
Any ticking when you start it? Be ready for a timing chain.
These are all things to look for, aren’t really hard jobs to tackle , but are great picks to get that purchase price down.
Don’t fret, the HHR will let you know if it likes you.
In the last 50 years , I’ve owned many cars, trucks , vans and such, this HHR has been the most fun to drive, easy to repair, best fuel mileage (gas, I’ve owned diesels with better mileage but much slower).
It’s the second longest I’ve owned a DD, and it’s second in mileage
I owned Oldblue1 for 10 years , 550,000 klms.<br/>The guy I sold it to, still owns it, and he still is driving it.
