I ask is because I saw where they recommend a higher degree thermostat because it allows them to be more aggressive in the tuning. Which to me, means more stress, which might decrease the life...that's the only reason why I was asking.

Makes sense. Running at a higher temp probably would not do anything to hurt the engine though. My only concern there would be emissions systems, what higher temps might do the catalytic converter.

the higher temp thermostat is to keep the engine from knocking on regular fuel. if you always used premium you could go without the thermostat most likely.

Have used Mobil 1 in all my engines for years, I find it to be the best thing that can be done for engine longevity. Am thinking about switching from Mobil 1 5W 30 to Mobil 1 10W 30 being i live in Alabama now and not dealing with the very cold winter weather

I am running a 2.2 in mine with the Trifecta tune and have seen no higher temps
