Based on what I’ve learned in this thread, if I had this problem, I would say NOTHING about mileage and instead you say the replacement IPC doesn’t work properly because it has the wrong VIN, and ask that the correct VIN be burned to it.

 

At least in my area, if the dealer didn't sell you the parts, most of them won't touch it. Hell, the closest Chevy dealer to me won't even program a key fob if you didn't buy it from them

Did you ever program the VIN into the IPC?

 

Problem with "customer says odometer is not working" is the part swappers will start with computers and dam the manual. "Reading manuals isn't my job, it is replacing computers because they are scary and expensive"! And you will note electronic parts cannot be returned and they give no guarantee the fix will work'

You should hear my story about a Ford I took to a dealer for running bad and a code. Short story is they replaced EVERY part of the EVAP system and threatened the "computer" before I said no more.

I tried to do it with a new VXDIAG VCX NANO for GM/OPEL and then discovered from the NANO company that the model I was sold actually doesn't cover 2007 like the ad online stated. I am going to send it back.
