Well, I we make sure everyone knows it’s an extended warranty and not a recall, owners won’t expect a notice or get a “nope” from the dealer due to asking for the wrong thing.

Many years ago I got a letter from the IRS due to a math error on my part and it scared the crap out of me, even though all it said was that my refund would be like twenty bucks less than what I had expected.
