Steering Rack Rebuild?

Is there a kit that I can buy to rebuild my steering rack? If so could I get a part number? Thanks all.

****** Not a "How To". Needs to be moved.*******

As far as a kit. Probably is but much easier to just buy a complete rack unit if that's what you need.
Part number ? Don't know because you didn't say what year, make and model.

Its a 2009 ls model. Its and HHR.. Also I don't need one. I'm just wondering if there's a rebuild kit. I know buying one is obviously easier. It's also way more expensive and I have my old one.

No steering rack rebuild kit I’m aware of , I ended up replacing the rack in Oldblue, the input shaft bearing and pinion gear were toast!
the rack is a know weak point , so possibly that’s why there’s no kit.

Thank you.. It does definitely seem to be a weak point. Ive had this car for going on 4 years and this will be the 2nd one.

Be sure to torque the rack bolts to 81 ft-lbs or you could get a clunk sound at times. It is possible to get a torque wrench on the bolts, but you will have to re-set the socket after every ratchet click. Very difficult but not impossible.

HHR has an electric steering rack - this implies not only repair, but also adjustment.
In the US, parts are not expensive, so just buy something that is not expensive, it will be reasonable.

The steering rack is manual,

the electric power steering motor is mounted to the bottom of the steering column
